Good article. Where will it lead? IMHO to residents’ flight to other, saner, areas.
But that has problems as well. For example, many NYers have moved to the Carolinas. For the first time I recently read of some backlash there against transplanted NYers by locals, paraphrased in a newspaper as “they came here & brought their ways with them, we don’t want them here.”
Eventually you’ll see vigilantism IMHO, but that’s less likely than just leaving: Most people just want to be left alone as they live their lives.
