Isn’t there anything in your life you like? Maybe God gave you a deep desire to be an architect, or an athlete. Do you think the best architect or athlete got that way over night?
When you stumble, remember that it is because of the weakness of human nature, and that only through God can you move towards perfection. Carry on with your cross, and as you take more steps you will find, a year down the road, that your life is holier now than it had been. And a year later, and so on, and so forth.
When it helps, vent, write it down if you must. Not any different than Lamentations, after all. But always remember to say “not my will but Thine be done!”

God NEVER intended that this be accomplised by ourselves. ONLY with God; with frequent use of the sacraments and MUCH prayer and self-denial can holiness be attained.
Consider this…
God knows we aren’t to bright so He makes it easy [a relative term] for us.
EITHER GOD IS IN CHARGE OF OUR LIVES
OR
we are in charge of our lives
AND THE RESPONSIBILITY CAN’T BE SPLIT:thumbsup:

God knew this and sent his only-begotten son to solve this problem. We are adopted children of God by faith and baptism. For one thing, this is to make us humble, very humble, always humble, in everything we do.
I’m reading through about 750 pages of a commentary on the gospel of John, specifically selected excerpts of the early church fathers.
One of the big issues iin the gospel of John comes in Chapter Ten, where a lot of theology of who Christ is, is layed down.
“Father” and “Son” you must realized are just two descriptive words that describe the relationship of the first and second members of the Holy Trinity. The Son always existed with the Father. The definition of the relationship of these two persons of the trinity is defined by the words Father and Son.
Just as this “is”, what “is” with us is that we are all sinners and need God. We are none better than the other, in need of salvation from our God, particularly the Lord Jesus Christ.
The book of Hebrews says (I haven’t read it recently) that we can “boldly” approach the throne of mercy because we have been adopted into the life of the Trinity. So, he truly wipes away our tears, not only in the future world, but in this one as well.
Our faith is in the things we cannot see, but believe.
We are not worthy, but we have been made worthy, because that is what God wants, is the salvation of all. So, do not dwell on the negative aspect of this. we are to live in the freedom of our salvation.
