Why, why, why would any parent send their kids to these evil institutions?

You get what you deserve.

Let’s breakdown the bullet points of this article:

1. It would require all public schools in the state to teach “comprehensive” sexuality education and gender theory in all grades — even Kindergarten. It would ostensibly be “age appropriate” — as defined by the school system.

First, lets be honest, today’s kids are much more aware of the existence of LGBT and etc. people. They are going to need a framework to process this that was not required a generation ago.

2. It would be “inclusive” — with sexuality lessons that include homosexual sex and transgenderism.

The language was “protected cases” but these classes include freedom of religious expression…do you not think required abstinence training does not address religion as a protected class?

3. It would teach all forms of birth control, including abortion, as well as abstinence.

The majority of the population does not teach abstinence to their kids and this is nothing new.

4. It allows schools to bring in outside LGBT or Planned Parenthood speakers.

It allows outside speakers, neither of those are specified. They could just as easily bring in someone to promote taking responsibility for your actions or as I’ve seen in the past organizations present the restrictions and inconveniences of pregnancy.

5. Borrowing from the hysteria over supposed “rape culture” on college campuses, the bill would teach the onerous concept of sexual “consent” to the young children.

Catholic teaching includes that a married couple should have sex with mutual consent and respect. Why should this be different for non-marital sex? Especially for men, if she has any sign of being out of it, assume she can’t give consent…why would many here not support reduced extramarital sex? There seems to be a ridiculous double standard that wants abstinence to be promoted yet screams OMG it’s a “liberal” idea yet it promotes that abstinence as the best default assumption. Don’t kid yourself most rape victims know their rapist. Creeps hiding in the shadows is a much less frequent occurrence,

6. Parents could opt-out their children from parts of the curriculum through a written request. They could also request to review the curriculum.

The article indicated this might be “too hard” to do. From a quick read of the Senate bill that did pass, this could be done a the Principle level. It’s not like there would be some onerous district bureaucracy to deal with.

The world is full of things, including what’s done at the school level, that people don’t like. I’m not thrilled my son has to go to school with unvaccinated kids nor do I appreciate having guns brought into our schools as some people’s idea of how to combat school shootings. Indeed compared to including things in sex ed that are not wanted, these two things have a chance of killing my kid in the wrong scenario.

The issue seems to be who provides such a framework, and from which perspective?
In this case, it seems that parents, for now, will be responsible for framing this discussion.

But homeschool is dirt cheap and it’s far superior to public school.

Good on those parents. Neither planned “parenthood” nor LGBTxyzetc. activists should be allowed anywhere near schools.

I’m grateful that all the kids in my kid’s school are unvaccinated and access to guns are close by and simple!

😁

No doubt planned “parenthood” representatives, in all their diabolical pride, think they’re the ones who should be framing the discussion.

Indeed, there is certainly a whiplash effect here. In my opinion there’s also some nostalgia for Christianity’s domination of society in the 50s and 60s, which is not coming back.

Parental access/imput into materials and speakers used to deliver information is becoming increasingly challenging in our digital age.
Many schools are now purchasing online editions of textbooks and parents do not see what their children are reading.
If you are sending a child to a public school, insisting on parental access to materials might be advised. Then frameworks can be made available for critique.

Oh, I don’t know about that. Christ promised us that the gates of hell would not prevail.
We may not see a turn towards Christ in our lifetimes, but then again, if we don’t, a future generation may be so blessed.

It’s amazing to me that the most quantifiable improvement in human health, due to vaccination, is being questioned. Not only is this allowing incredibly destructive diseases to hang on, it is allowing them to mutate and potentially become antibiotic resistant, eroding the other great discovery in human health. I think people that have lived through times when these vaccinate-able diseases were rampant would be flabbergasted. Humans are not really living longer…we’ve just figured how to not die so quickly. IMHO ignoring the cornerstone discoveries that have allowed this are incredible acts of entitlement and squandering a gift of health that are in many way difficult or virtually impossible to regain.

As a sub teacher, I need to constantly remind myself to carefully vet whatever the regular teacher leaves for me to read to the kids. If it’s promoting “transgender,” etc. I simply ignore it or don’t get around to it.

Very true. But not every parent is cut out to homeschool. Some parents simply don’t have the discipline/temperament required to homeschool (even with the newest online courses available)

I’m especially grateful that we still have the freedom to protect our children from the ravages of vaccination. Very grateful.

I hate to be a broken record, but the evil of our age is not merely sexual deviation and confusion.
It’s deception, and the abject stupidity and loss of reason it gives rise to.
Romans 1. Deceptions about basic human nature, to the point where human beings can’t even differentiate male/female, and don’t even know how they come to exist.

We are a people who’s senseless minds are increasingly darkened. And that is Satan’s playground. Thankfully this idiocy did not come into law, but think about the fact that such idiocy was even proposed.

Back in the days when guns were easy to buy and there were virtually zero mass shootings? When little children weren’t indoctrinated into LGBTxyzetc. ideology and encouraged to “change” their own God given gender? Those days?

Satan rules this present age, in accord with God’s providence.
