I’m wondering if anyone knows where in the chronology Sarah died. Did she meet Rebekah? The account of Sarah’s death is in Gen 23, but I know that the chapters in Gen don’t give an exact chronolgy of events.

Gen 24:67 says that, “Isaac brought her (Rebekah) into his mother’s tent. . . so Isaac was comforted after his mother’s death.” If Sarah was already dead why would the tent still be called hers?

Stillsmallvoice . . . what does Jewish tradition say about this?

Rebekah, is the daughter of Betuel, son of Milkah, wife of Nahor, brother of Abraham, so odds are Sarah met her before her death.

Genesis 24:15
And it came to pass, before he had done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham’s brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder.

Concerning why the tent,

In ancient times, couples demonstrated their new status in different ways. One early rabbi held that the change in status from single to couple happened when the couple began living together by establishing a home.

It was likely still called Sarah’s tent out of honor for her.
