You sound an aweful lot like another poster who was suspended a couple of months ago. :hmmm:

Think:
oh really

Luke12:51
Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division…The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter…It goes on…
Do you know what this means? It simply means that one must choose Christ above all other things, it means that if a family member chooses evil you must continue to be on the path to holiness, even if it means you must die for it or allow your family to turn against you. You must take all Scripture into context not just pick and choose to make a point. Scripture can’t contradict itself so it seems then you aren’t looking at the whole picture What Jesus said is that the only peace in this world is the inner joy adn true peace that comes from total faith in God, a relationship with Christ. Certainly you have read all the instruction with how to treat others. You are taking this way out of context.

The two most important commandments are Love the Lord your God with your whole heart, soul, mind and being and Love your neighbor as yourself. With this Jesus summed up the 10 commandments and God’s plan for humankind.

Scripture must be taken as a whole, its not a salad bar.

You took Luke out of context. Jesus spoke of the problems that did arise because some knew Him for who He was and others did not…and that causes problems even today.
Personally, I think you little book idea - though hardly original - would be a very big seller. It has that underlying “attack Christianity” thing goin’ for it that all the pseudo-intellectuals have always liked (oh, the Chuch has ruined the world, oh the Church as ruined my life, Oh the evil of Christianity, blah blah blah) and you could probably sell the idea for a movie that would have lots and lots of really cool special effects … shoot, I bet there’s even a video game potential.

On a serious note, I was listening to Father Corapi address the “how can God allow evil” thing that always bothers people…all people, Christian or not, have to face this question at some time or another if they are to develop any kind of spiritual maturity. Even now, when I think of horrors in the world like grown men beating their 7 year old daughter to death on Mother’s Day or women who would live with pedophiles just so they won’t have to be alone on a Saturday night, I can feel the pull of depression and the sin of blaming God tug at my heart. But Father reminded me in his sermon that great good comes out of great evil. It has in the past and it will in the future. I am incapable of understanding God’s complete plan. I don’t need to - I only need to remember the words of St.Faustina when I am troubled by the evil that humans do: “Jesus, I trust in you”.

How many of you, even you, Think, can come up with examples of great good coming from great evil?

Think…really think.

Re: Luke 12:51 Ask anyone from a family of non-Christians what life became like for them after converting to Christianity. A perfect example of this was a lovely Native American woman I met. She was raised in a traditional Native home. When she became a Christian her family disowned her. Some accept Jesus as the true Messiah, others do not. Depending on the circumstances, culture, etc., this can cause quite a rift in families. This is meaning of the verse, nothing else.

There is something I have learned over the course of my years online. When a person constantly types “…” this person has a problem with being dramatic or is childish.

Think, you aren’t the first person to think such things. Don’t delude yourself into thinking that you have come upon some Earth shattering news.
