From time to time I see people complaining about a specific thing their priest does.
I believe that we as fallen human beings always love to point out the bad things, but rarely the good things.
I am guilty of this myself.
As one priest said : "What’s the point of talking about how dark it is ? Rather, light a candle and bring light to the world "
So what do you like about your priest ?
The first priest we have is very old and has been a part of our parish since I was born.
He is so kind its scary, and his homily stories are interesting to listen to.
He is also passionate about the history of our town, and contributes to historical documents of our area.

The other priest is a new one, joined this week. He is very shy since he has been a priest for only 3 years,
but everyone finds him adorable because he is so obedient. He has a lot of respect for the mass.

What about you ?

Many in the parish really love my pastor and he does have a devotion to a Carmelite saint.

Pastoral Assistant #1 - strong, kind, great homilies where he doesn’t shy away from mentioning Confession or issues of life, gentle and helpful confessor, devoted to BVM and the Blessed Sacrament, doesn’t make up his own words when he offers the Mass, seems good with the youth, he knows my name.

Pastoral Assistant #2 - missionary priest - kind and friendly, good confessor, always has a funny or catchy story in his homilies to help get our attention and zero in on his point(s), says a reverent Mass (imo).

Our priest is pretty new. Only been here for 6 months tops. But so far so good. His homilies are spot on and he always quotes scripture and the Church Fathers. You don’t see that everyday unfortunately. He is more quiet but that gives the sense of contentment and happiness. And he’s got a good sense of humor which you wouldn’t expect from a quiet, shy type. Awesome man.

He cares tremendously about the physical welfare of his parishioners and is very much a ‘man of the people’.

(Can I say something good about a nun? A very charitable nun
“You’d find a good word to say about the devil himself”, she was told.

_“Well, he’s certainly very industrious” she replied)

My priest, compassionate, welcoming, loyal to Church teachings, not afraid to speak the truth respectfully and honestly.

My Parish Priest is personable, I can talk to him about anything. In the Catholic Parish I grew up in, 60’s our Priest never talked to us, except in Confession. They all seemed so high and mighty then, or maybe it was me just being a kid. Well, maybe not, my other Parish Father was kind of stand offish too, but wise, oh so wise.
Priests are human too, very human, overworked too

My senior pastor is awesome. He is intelligent, kind, thoughtful. He cares a lot. He has gone out of his way to advise me on personal issues one time, invited me to breakfast and lunch because he wanted to get to know his parishoners when he was new to the parish and has left a legacy in the parish that could last for generations. He gives great homilies too.

His assistant pastor (I forget his official title) is a great man too. Extremely funny and nice.

I met mine for the first time last week when I got stranded on the mainland in a storm… Another clergy man sought him out and he organised and paid for a superb B and B for the night. Utter luxury and such kindness
