Once I was speaking to a Muslim friend of mine (a young women with whom I was attending university) on the phone, and at one point her parents came home while we were talking. She put the phone down for a few seconds to talk to them, and when she came back on she told me that her mother (who is also Muslim) had asked her to tell me she said “God bless you”.
I thought that was a very nice thing to do, especially since I hadn’t even met my friend’s mother, and she didn’t have to say anything to me, as I wasn’t in the room or anything.
The friend I’m speaking about is also a wonderful young woman - very kind, intelligent, and respectful of my beliefs.
She’s also not fanatical in any way.
