Welp. I think this is kind of a dumb move on CA’s part, though I’ll still use it as a source for Catholic info. Saying goodbye in this section, because I’ve done a lot of posting here as of late.
I’ve actually been a user here for a while, since around 2011 or so. I’ve had a previous account banned on account of being argumentative, and this time around I’ve done my best to be better.
I met a person on here that I’d go on to have a fairly bad relationship with over several years, though I wish her all the best, then and now. Definitely formed a part of my life, and taught me what to look for in a partner.
This place has been pretty important to me some times, not so much others. I’ll miss it overall, though.
I thought about going on a screed against some of the folks here (including a moderator that may or may not even be here anymore), but ultimately that’s not going to change any minds. I imagine, having confessed to the fact that I have a previous, banned account here, that the mods will likely lock this one. More power to 'em.
For the folks worried about Biden being President: It’s alright. The Supreme Court has already signaled that it’s ready to knock down anything he might want to drastically change that concerns religious freedoms. Maybe the next election will be an honest one. We can hope.
For the folks worried about Pope Francis’ occasional gaffs: He makes mistakes, like any other person. He’s not the anti-Pope. He’s not leading the Church into ruin. Pray for him, and I mean every day.
Y’all, don’t let folks who aren’t Catholic tell you how your faith should be lived. Learn your faith, and you’ll know when someone is trying to give you good advice, or when someone is either giving you unintentional bad advice or actively trying to dupe you. Talks less, listen more, defend when necessary, and move on. Some people simply aren’t worth wasting your time on.
I guess that’s about it. This may be moved, it may be deleted, but I hope a few folks read it. Some of this place’s posts got me through dark times, and I’ll always be thankful for it.
Be good, y’all.
