The collection’s author is not known with certainty, though the majority hold the writer must have been a follower of the school of St. Alphonsus Liguori (1696-1787), if not one of his intimate companions.

Adaptation of this book to an Internet blog is a work in progress. A new entry will be added every day (possibly several, backdated). From year to year, each entry will be posted on the same day, giving the blog a cyclical nature in accord with the book’s printed editions. The spiritual wealth of the collection is such that yearly repetition does not tend toward tedium, but a deeper appreciation of the proffered wisdom.

Makes for a nice point of meditation each day, quite challenging!
 
For the Posterous version of the blog, there’s supposed to be an audio recording for each day’s entry going forward from today (see the entry for May 25 for an example). Also, the maintainer is hoping, planning to compile the text entries into an e-book and the daily MP3s into an audio book once the whole printed book has been blog-a-lized.
