When you think the Holy Catholic Church cannot possibly endure further attacks or dissent from within, something painfully happens to prove the contrary.

According to Saint Joseph’s University newspaper, The Hawk, a pro-homosexual event known on campus as “Rainbow Week” was renamed this year for “Unity Week” to avoid protest. “Scheduled to begin October 30, Unity Week will follow in the Rainbow Week tradition of educating and promoting acceptance of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender students and faculty.”

Why is this in the Culture of Death forum?

But here is an article from the student newspaper
Mission and Identity and The Alliance began discussions so the University would be prepared to defend itself against future political and religious attacks. Last year, a Catholic Standard and Times article criticizing Rainbow Week sparked widespread controversy over the school’s position on homosexuality.
“The label ‘Rainbow Week’ is to many offensive, and we feel that detracts from the mission of what this week is about,” said Joe Lunardi, assistant vice-president for University Communications. It has been noted that the rainbow denotes a gay flag.
“Being social animals, we are political animals,” said Rev. Gerard McGlone, S.J., vice-president for mission and identity, adding that the University cannot afford to be naïve to the world’s politically charged atmosphere. “We’ve learned that an innocent message can be misconstrued, and we have to be savvy about politics so we can protect people from unfair characterizations.”

This post is in the Culture of Death section because homosexuality leads people to die both spiritually and physically.
