Scapular Question

I received a “Five-Fold” Scapular for confirmation.

My pastor took it, splashed it with Holy Water and blessed it. He didn’t do any investiture.

So, do I wear it or take it to someone else?

Ask him to invest you. I’m sure he will. If not have another priest do it.

I had even given him the little pamphlet that came with it.

However, with leaving for Eire the next day to be with his dying brother, I’m sure that he had other things on his mind, including Easter Vigil in just five short hours!

Not all priests have the authority to invest you – it depends on their Bishop. Most bishops grant all priests in their dioceses that authority but some Bishops do not.

Just saying this as a heads up in case your priest doesn’t have that authority so it doesn’t catch you off guard.
