Scapulars

Can someone explain the purpose of the different colored Scapulars? I have read about several different kinds, but it was not really explained what each color is for. Are they even for different things? Does it even matter?

I have to say that hiding a green scapular could be construed as an act of “magic”. How can we proceed so as to avoid falling into such a misunderstanding?

Good question! Someone pointed out in another thread that when her non-Catholic family members come to visit, she hides a green Scapular under the mattress of their bed.
