Hi I am 13 years old and when I was around The second to third grade age I wanted to see what the inside of Eucharist looked like so I took a small piece out of mouth and looked at it and put it back in. Is this defiling the Eucharist do you think I need forgiveness from the pope.

You certainly don’t have to go as high as the Pope. Just go to Confession with a regular priest. But to me it doesn’t sound like you did anything wrong, since in the end you did consume all of it.

If, at the time, you didn’t understand that it was grave matter, then it’s likely it wasn’t grave sin. It’s best to mention it in your next confession. The priest will give you appropriate guidance.

NAW, but if it bothers you talk to your Confessor about it.

It was not a good idea; but kids WILL be kids.

PRAY very much!

God Bless you,
Patrick

I do not believe this is defining the Eucharist. You had no intention of harming God in the Blessed Sacrament. I would not do it in the future, but it is not a sin that you would need forgiveness from the pope. You could certainly discuss this with your spiritual director or pastor. Don’t lose sleep over it.

Didn’t it go back into your mouth? So no harm! Jesus would understand because you were a kid. Nothing was defiled.

The three conditions for mortal sin are grave matter, full knowledge, and deliberate consent. This was not a mortal sin because you, clearly, did not have full knowledge. You can mention it in your next confession.

Goofy little kids act goofy.
Now you know better.
Full stop

I was saying that because if I did I would because only the pope can forgive defiling the Eucharist wich is why I was scarred because the would be hard to do.
