Don’t worry the priest doesn’t bite 🙂

Priest have also pretty much heard it all. Like others have said once you dive in, you’ll learn what a wonderful healing experience sacramental confession is. You’ll learn to hunger for it when you need it.
Amen to that!

I think it is wonderful you are ashamed. Because you feel ashamed obviously you have guilt, right? And, due to this, you need Confession to set you free of this. A suggestion if I may. How to bring up the subject is what scares most people.
“Father I read something that was unpure.” I doubt he will ask what, where did you get it etc. Try that and set yourself free of this. Abolution washes the sould clean of the sin once you confess it. Yes, the thought or guilt may remain but that subsides in time. We all have some skeleton that we ‘hung onto’ for fear of shame. Jesus want’s honesty and purity. What we fail to realize we have to be honest in order for him to make us pure.
God bless,

I Was terrified of confession. But, i had determine: What was a scared of? some people think the priest will judge them and tell other people. But, for me it was harder to admit to MYSELF that i had commited these sins. sometimes in the past i useed to not tell all my sins or make them seem not as bad because i didnt want to admit I did that. But I realized God knows all,so the only person I was lying to was myself. Jesus gave us confession to FREE us, so if we are afraid and dont use it to the fullest, we are only cheating ourselves out of this awesome gift! So decide: What are YOU afraid of?
Hope it helps

You could include impurity in your list of sins and if Father wants more information, he will ask.
I would strongly advise against not doing this. Don’t downplay a sin you are ashamed of. That would be a bit like having badly injured someone in a fight and confessing it as “I got into a bit of a fight with someone”. If a sin is bothering you, don’t gloss over it amongst a list of sins. Be specific and clear about it and let the priest know how ashamed you feel about it.

If you’re really worried about Confession, then go to a priest who does not know you, and go to confession behind a grill if need be. But don’t gloss over your sins out of a sense of shame. It is good that you feel ashamed about your sin, that shows that you realise the wrongness of your actions. We should feel a sense of shame about our sins.

But from the priest’s point of view your sin will not shock him at all. He will have heard far worse than that and on a very regular basis.

Go and confess your sin and be specific about it, you will feel such a sense of healing as a result of doing so.
To me confession is like diving into a swimming pool. The first dive is kind of scary and you’re nervous, but after you take the first plunge, the more often and frequently you dive, the less scary it is. I would recommend approaching this confession as your first plunge and then keep going regularly so that it doesn’t become a scary thing
👍👍 A very good analogy.
