From what I am able to discern, it was not a game of any kind.
Furthermore, the passage can be located in the Song of Songs.
The text was dealing with the bride and groom in the Song of Songs.
His idea is that it clearly is not a physical relationship.
The translation that I use is the Ancient Christian Writers, Vol. 26.
It is on pages 26-27.
“…Divine Scritpures makes use of homonyms; that is to say, they use identical terms for describing different things. And they even go so far as to call the members of the outer man by the same names as the parts and dispositions of the inner man; and not only are the same terms employed, but the things themselves are compared with one another.”
I do not remember the encyclical, but the author of one of the encyclical says that Origen is the greatest in the East.
I find this to be a potentially power teaching, if not actually powerful.
