SCI FI and COMEDY CENTRAL

I was flicking through the channels last night (Oct. 12th). I couldent believe my shock at what was on basic cable TV.

The SCI FI Channel had what was supposed to be God dressed up like a prostitute ready to perform oral sex on a monster with 3 eyes. And then continues to have intercourse. All cartoon.

I switched the channel to Comedy Central There was another cartoon which protrayed a woman with hardly any clothes on and large breasts comming out of church and giving everyone the impression she had a sexual encounter with Jesus.

The Fox News Channel had two women on Hannity & Colmes, talking about what women really want in their new book comming out.
They said abortion is not even in the top 5. No woman cares about the abortion pro-life pro-choice issues anymore.
Hannity agreed that women who care are in the minority so it won’t be regarded as an issue in the next presidential race.

(I thought the pro-life people were making great strides?)

I can’t help but wonder what exactly stops God from totally destrying this country. How much can he endure with us spitting in his face, like they did on Calvery?

If our country is 84% Christian, why is this **** on TV?
Why do we allow God to Blasphemed???
Are there no marters left?

There must be a lot of Cristians out there that leave their religion at the church door when they walk out on Sunday.

I’ve seen the ads for the cartoon on Comedy Central. highly offensive stuff. Last night we were flipping through, and they actually said F-you and just bleeped out the bad word. Why even bother to bleep it out when it’s so obvious what they’re saying?! I agree that there is some seriously disgusting stuff on TV. I’m only 25, but I remember when there were shows on TV in the evenings that families could watch together. I’m talking only 15 years ago, not back in the black and white days. Now it’s all sex, even at 8:00 on network TV. :nope:

Acutally Comedy Central doesn’t beep out the f-bomb on their Saturday Night movie. I watched both Eddie Murphy: Raw and Southpark: Bigger…Uncut, and both were entirely uncensored.

Yeah, but they show those uncut at 1 o’clock in the morning.

I have no problem with uncut stuff at 1am. Heck, I want uncut stuff starting at 9pm…its CABLE. Cable shouldnt be censoring like I do agree broadcast tv should. I pay a premium for cable and 9pm is past what is consider family hour.

A few weeks ago, I had the misfortune of having to sit in a room with a TV on that was tuned in to Comedy Central. There was a movie on that was disgusting in just about every way. Each minute of that movie seemed to be more vile than the next. It was apparently a “comedy” about some kids being tasked to kill someone for some kind of financial gain. Along the way was just about every kind of vulgar sexual “joke” and foul language. It is truly frightening to think of how popular this channel apparently is, and how kids are sitting and watching it day after day - this trash, which constantly slanders and ridicules morality and makes immorality seem “cool.” I too am 25, and I’m with Steph - I miss the old days of TV. I pulled the plug on my cable TV a few months ago and I do not miss it.

I don’t know about all cable companies, but Comcast (our company) you can block any channel you want. Believe me I’ve block several. I will not get rid of cable because there are very good channels. Fox news, EWTV, cooking channel, NJ news, TV land and many others. I have basic Digital- no HBO or any of those I will choose what Movie I watch at a viedo rental store. Another thing watch those co-called Kiddie channels, Nickjr. for little ones is OK-such as Dora, Blues clues,ect. But some of the “older kid shows” have many double meaning and suggestive talk going on and IMO Cartoon network is just plain trash, not allowed in my house.

Despite the percentages of Christians in the country, we don’t control the air waves. Hollywood enjoys pushing the envelope and shocking people, so complaining to the people that make such shows isn’t going to do much good. At the same time television is controlled by advertiseing dollars. The only way to prevent such programing is to either not watch or refuse to buy products advertised on such shows.

I think that I know the cartoon that you are talking about. It has space aliens and scantly clad women? I watched it once just from curiousity. Not only is it offensive but it was very dumb, not funny at all. I don’t see it having a long life on tv.

As far as destroying this country…we are certainly not the worst country or most depraved. In Denmark you can do things like window shop for a Prostitute. I don’t think that we are quite that bad yet.
