“Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind.”

“My religion consists of a humble admiration of the illimitable superior spirit who reveals himself in the slight details we are able to perceive with our frail and feeble mind.”

Two quotes from Albert Einstein;

My Thoughts…

Although, I know he didn’t believe in a “personal” God. I love the idea that he was a great scientific mind as well as a fabulous philosopher! A few of todays scientists I believe would do well to take a leaf out of this mans book, and never underestimate the power of philosophy or the need for it…He understood what the relationship between Science and Religion should and could be if we were to embrace humility…could step outside ourselves and see the “world view” or “faith world view” from the other side with understanding of the limits of our five natural senses…

I find it amazing that with greater God given understanding of our natural world, and letting go of our ego that the soul can soar to even higher understanding of where we fit in, in the big scheme of things…! To choose with our free will to take that leap of faith towards God, to recognise the “small” and everyday clues of his existence in our lives, and to be in awe of this wonderful existence we have been given…

I believe God is always there, he isn’t hiding…but with every new discovery he is allowing us a glimpse of just how “beautiful” he is…however, he is unreachable and indeterminable to our current understanding, he can’t be found under a microscope! Didn’t he tell us as much??..I believe “Evolution” is “more than just a hypothesis” as JPII said, but “Evolution-ism” which is a belief based on scientific evidence, an alternative “faith” in naturalism if you like…is too often mistaken as the concept that Evolution in itself has been God’s undertaker, or is at odds with the “Soul” and that in fact man and our “intellect” can reduce his glory to be understood by our five limited senses in our time on this planet. Enter philosophy: The question of “Free Will”, “Love”, “Beauty” and even the fact that we can “Perceive” evil in the world today…Do we ever ask ourselves “Why??”…The whole moral debate and the absurdity of responsibility if there is nobody on the bench up there who gives us objective “Right” and “Wrong”…Without God, morals are reduced to a series of subjective and arbitrary “I likes…”…

I love the concept that “Love” is binding…and can see this is a reality in the world. It certainly doesn’t “set you free…” in this existence!

I choose to love Jesus in this lifetime, and with all this meagre person can learn to understand and interpret in this lifetime!

I hope I have explained my thoughts ok…:o I’m new…lol…

Lettyd:

Welcome to CAF. I am usually so remiss about welcoming newcomers, so, I am happy you have given me the opportunity here.

Since you are so new, I would suggest you go back through several threads to get a handle on the direction most have taken recently. Einstein has been a subject in and of quite a few threads herein. Notwithstanding that he was a gifted mathematician and physicist, I’m not sure I’d agree that he was a “fabulous philosopher.”

Cause it’s been covered… BIG Newbie!

Sorry Guys…I have a lot to learn…

I hope to do so here…

Sorry again, I’ll get involved in some of the older threads instead…
