Hello,

I go by “Atheist”. To you I may be a sinner, but to science I am trusted. I hate to break it to this community, but there is scientific evidence against God. Here is a very small list of things that contradict your bible:
  1. God created humanity. This is a false narrative, as we have evidence that there was no first human, rather we evolved over million of years. Search up AL 288-1 if you doubt me.
  2. Jesus is pronounced “g-s-uh-s”. This is also likely wrong, as linguistics suggest that it came from the Hebrew language, and it is related to the name of Joshua.
That is all I have for today. Good day

Atheist who knows a little about Catholicism here. Catholics are not biblical literalists. They rely on both scripture and tradition. And when there is a contradiction in the bible they rely on tradition (Church teaching) to sort it out for them. Your argument would pose few problems to a well-versed 🙂 fundamentalist and poses none at all to a Catholic.

As I often point out here there is no one view among ‘atheists’ on anything. The only common factor is that we don’t believe in god(s).

However it’s a bit embarrassing to think that some on CAF may think your approach is mine. So I thought I would make this response.

As an additional note to the OP: if there are no god(s) then we need to seek other explanations for real things. All human societies have produced religion. We need an explanation for that. Mocking is not research. Mocking is not explanation. It is not scientific,

You’re right - we know that. It became Jesus because the Greeks don’t have the “sh” sound (it changed to “s”), and they also put -s at the end of their names (Socrates, Hercules, etc.)

“Joshua” in Hebrew means “God saves”.

Oddly, the first person ever to be called “Joshua” was the man that Moses picked to lead God’s people into the Promised Land 🙂
Basically he said “I can’t lead you to the promised land, but this man - Joshua (Jesus) - can!”

By your second post, I get that you are probably a troll, but, in any case, I was going to say what @FiveLinden said.

God, as Creator, is not a physical entity. You won’t find evidence of God-made human drafts or any kind of empirical evidence.

What?
but to science I am trusted.
does this even mean

Welcome to CAF! I recommend you peruse the forum so that you don’t make a fool of yourself. You ain’t the only atheist/agnostic here!

As mentioned above, the supernatural is beyond the scope of science so your “proof” of Gods non existence is a wee bit hasty. Science doesn’t touch the supernatural by definition and any scientists claiming the supernatural has been disproven is stepping outside science and just giving his/her personal opinion.

I’d highly recommend that after reading some threads, you then ask questions rather than make statements. You might be surprised at what you learn. While there are some literalist Catholics, the majority is quite versed in science and philosophy. I learn something new here everyday!

I’ve heard that many Hispanics name their sons Jesus. They pronounce it Hey zoos! (Corrected from previous error :hugs:).

Some languages say Jesu, some say Yehshua…lots of ways to pronounce it! Tomato tomahto…

I call my husband Sweetheart and that’s not nearly his name pronounced correctly.
Are you hear because you’re dating a Catholic? That often sends people over here.
Catholics aren’t good choices for atheists to date. lol

Why do I doubt this?
but there is scientific evidence against God
Nope. None at all.
Of course, no scientific evidence supporting either.
This is a false narrative, as we have evidence that there was no first human, rather we evolved over million of years.
Depends on how you define “Human”.
That is all I have for today.
Something tells me that is all you have period. I would say nice try, but it really isn’t.

Oops, you’re right! And I live in city with 40% Hispanics! My face is red! :hugs::hugs::hugs:

No. You cannot explain scientifically many things. How did the Universe come about? (the universe did not create itself). Dark matter and dark energy are scientific mysteries. And nobody has been able to produce a single cell putting chemicals together in the lab, and many have tried. So nice try but no.

As a scientist, I can say that you don’t seem very trustworthy. Science acknowledges that it cannot answer all questions and the whole notion of whether there is/isn’t a God is beyond the competence of a scientist. That’s pretty universally understood amongst scientists.
