The article (science20.com/writer_on_t…_a_joke-139982) to me seems like a mishmash of ideas, basically supporting the idea that we are naturally superstitious because of an “evolutionary life-force which may actually make the decisions”, thereby making no sense to either atheists or theists. I imagine the writer is Hindu.

Having natural predispositions toward certain attitudes or behaviors doesn’t always override conscious decisions that we make. If our “wiring” determined everything, we would be having orgies in the streets. 🤷

And if you truly feel there is no difference between Christians and atheists in terms of their beliefs, then quit complaining about our beliefs. This restricts you to only criticizing our actions.

When I read that I thought of some of the rather vocal atheists I have had some contact with, and thought, maybe they’re not as convinced of their atheism as they would have us believe.
Some interesting points there. There will probably always be atheists but they will never dominate society because of demographics. As the article pointed out religious cultures are the ones who are having more than the 2.1 children per family. European and English and Russian and North American culture are doomed to fail because of demographics.

So true. If you don’t stick the bun in the oven, it will not bake. 😉

Or if you seize the bun from the oven and trash it, you get no bun at all.

The article makes sense, as atheist, just as well as believers, are all looking to the heavens for answers, as to what and why we are. Who answers a question, is of no importance, just that these questions are in fact answered.

That’s assuming that all children will automatically follow the religion of their parents. Maybe if we brought them up to question the status quo we would all be in a better situation.

As demographics are currently trending Islam will rule most of the world within a relatively short time. Even Christian cultures are not keeping up with them, except possibly in Africa. If you think our secular culture will suddenly start producing children I think you would be wrong. Secularism is essentially selfish, selfish people just don’ t replace themselves.
