This is a long read but interesting on Scientology. I thought prior to reading this that it did not use coercion. Little did I know.

“They’re asking me questions about sex – every personal question known to man.” If she tried to leave, Sara adds, the auditors would physically block her path and force her back in her chair. Officials say this forced auditing is for the subjects’ own good, as it might be harmful if they were to leave a session before they were ready.
“Scientology has a plausible explanation for everything they do – that’s the genius of it,” says Sara. “But make no mistakes: Scientology is brainwashing.”
