I read Rome Sweet Home. It was not so much an apologetics book as a personal case study of how someone who started out so anti-Catholic managed to come into the Catholic Church. But he read a lot of books from both Catholic and Protestant sources. Someone who only reads from anti-Catholic sources such as Loraine Boettner probably could not have made that journey.

Rome sweet home was the first book of his I ever read. I own a few more of his books. “Hail holy queen”, “Reasons to believe”, “the lambs supper” and I have read “Swear to God”. I might be missing a title or two also. I also read “first comes love”

He really is a brilliant guy. Got to meet him at a book signing once.

This book played a major part in my conversion to Catholicism. I have read many of his books, The Lamb’s Supper and the Fourth Cup are great in content.

I love his stuff! I’ve read The Lamb’s Supper, The Fourth Cup, Understanding the Our Father, and started the Haily Holy Queen.

The Lamb’s Supper and Consuming the Word. I need to buy more of his books. Besides learning more about Catholicism and the obvious subjects of the book, and I’ve read each of those books at least 10 times. Those books also help me because I’ma lector, and the content of both gives me a much deeper understanding, and to me, helps me be a better lector.

I have read Rome Sweet Home by Scott Hahn when I mysteriously managed to get it out from my local Catholic library. I got it out of the library mainly for my wife to read, for at the time my wife was getting very frustrated with my apologetic enthusiasm combined with my humorous good wit.

She identified more with Kimberly, but God bless them both.

He is a wonderful teacher.

When he was speaking at our church on a Saturday afternoon several years ago, so many people crammed into the church, not just in the nave, but all over the church watching on television screens, and stayed for vigil Mass that our priests had to call other parishes in our city to obtain enough hosts for Holy Communion, and even then, they were breaking the hosts into tiny pieces (about the diameter of a pea!) so that all could receive who were in the massive Communion line!

I’m sure that most of those people were from other parishes, or people from our parish who usually attend Sunday Masses. It’s not that they were there to see a celebrity but don’t come any other time to see Jesus.

I’m not sure that he would still draw the same crowd. For some reason, it seems that the band of former Protestant converts who became “famous” in the early 2000’s have lost their appeal. I don’t understand. Protestant celebrities like John Ortberg, Anne Graham Lotz, etc. still draw large crowds when they make a speaking appearance. Why not Catholic celebs?

I have read only one of his books, Hail Holy Queen. I read it in order to understand the Tradition and Dogma concerning Mary, and it helped me a lot.

Dr. Hahn has written a small library of books. My personal favorite is A Father Who Keeps His Promises. I’m not sure about a complete bibliography of books by him, but here are the ones that come immediately to mind:

A Father Who Keeps His Promises
Lamb’s Supper
The Fourth Cup
Consuming the Word
Joy to the World
Swear to God
Lord Have Mercy
Kinship by Covenant
Hail Holy Queen
Understanding the Our Father
The First Society
First Comes Love
Signs of Life
Reasons to Believe
Angels and Saints
Romans (Catholic Commentary on Sacred Scripture)
Catholic Bible Dictionary
The Creed: Professing the Faith Through the Ages

There are a lot more by Hahn. I’ve not read them all, and of the ones on the above list I’ve only ready a small handful (maybe about 8 of them). But everything I’ve read by him has been well worth the read.

I think there are a few threads with people not liking his works. So, apparently his style is not for everyone.

I DO enjoy his books. Of the several I’ve read, I’ve enjoyed every one of them. I did a Bible study combining the Lambs Supper with Revelations. It worked out remarkably well, and introduced several more people to Dr. Hahn.

I’ve read about a third of the ones listed a few posts back. Am currently reading the Ignatius New Testament which he was involved with. He also does series on EWTN on some of his books. Currently airing is The Fourth Cup. Also good on EWTN is the program Franciscan University Presents on which Hahn and others from the University faculty interview various guests. I don’t watch EWTN as much as I used to but always try to watch these.

His book on Revelation blew my mind, he is the person who got me so into digging into theology and the Bible!

I read Rome Sweet Home back around the time I was thinking of converting. It helped in convincing me to convert. Unfortunately, I haven’t gotten around to his other books since then.
