I am trying to find the scriptural passage (NT-I think) which talks about God’s followers which are not really following him-it criticizes them-something about spitting them out-can anyone give me the citation?

The passage to which you are referring is Revelation 3:15-16:
“I know your works; I know that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either cold or hot. So, because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.”
