what is the Catholic view on why St. Paul during his greetings in one or more of his letters to the different communities used this or similar phrase:

“The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.” (catholic-resources website)

As you know this is a greeting the priest can use at Mass.

Does “God” refer to “Father”? And why didn’t he use “Father”?

Do you use the word “God” in your liturgy languge?

In mine we use in that greeting “God the Father”.

It’s understood, when talking about the Trinity, that the use of the word “God” refers to the Father.

In Zemi’s case, the two are synonymous.

I have heard similar to this before. Does anyone know why this is?
 
The Holy Spirit and Jesus are also God, so it seems like the greeting is double counting the Them and excluding the Father even though St. Paul did not intend this.
 
I thought the original post was answered. When talking of the Trinity, “God” is "God, the Father’. It’s synonymous.

Why? I don’t know, but it’s now tradition.
