I am once again anxious because of what could be a scruple according to some other people on the forum. I Since the Scruple was caused by reading about the teachings of a Saint who claimed His teaching was from the Holy Spirit.

My scruples have made me afraid of reading the works of Saints in general because of this reason. I probably shouldn’t have read about this either but now I’m not sure how to deal with it.

I am writing to my Spiritual Director about it, but I wanted to ask for prayer that I can overcome this episode and focus on my work.

Talk to your priest. He is the only one that can help you.

Scruples don’t come from reading writings of saints. It is a form of OCD. Talk about it with a priest and/or a counselor.
You are in my prayers.

let me reword that then, because I don’t want to attribute evil to something a Priest said.

You are going back to scruples in this reply, I never said you attributed evil to something a priest said. I was trying to tell you that scruples come from OCD, they come from a reaction of our brain to certain triggers. Talk with a priest and/or a therapist about it.

PS Saint Alphonsus Liguori is a great saint to ask for intercession during scrupulosity attacks. He himself suffered this cross in his life.
