@Sonya85 This is a Renaissance painting, it is not uncommon in paintings of that period to see baby Jesus’ penis. According to some historians, this was a way for the artist to point out that, in the Incarnation, Jesus is God but is also fully human. According to other historians this was instead a mere choice of style connected with Renaissance naturalism (lifelike accuracy of the painting).
