Why are you fixating on the art thing? All I meant by that is the art shown, (in that video) was probably what they actually did. Not that all Catholic art is 100% correct.

I have to laugh at this. Catholic art shows Mary breast-feeding Jesus with men around with her boobs exposed. Almost no way she would’ve done that in real life.
Well, exactly. It’s a ridiculous argument. Another set of religious paintings show Our Lord stark naked as a baby. Yes, that’s likely.

There was another thread where there were claims that Catholics should only be permitted to attend the Sunday Mass offered after 4 pm at many Catholic Churches on Saturday (when it is still Calendar Saturday but Liturgical Sunday in the Church) if they have sufficient reason. This debate reminded me of that. That and the fact that many people with scrupulosity issues post here or read what is written on this forum and might think they went to an invalid Mass or took Communion sacrilegiously because certain posters with strong personal preferences made ill advised commments.

My Confessor knows I have Scrupulosity issues. He is a great help and blessing to me. He is strict but patient and explains where my reasoning is incorrect (for example, why something I confessed, although troubling to me, isn’t a mortal sin because it doesn’t meet one or more of the criteria) I can only imagine if the next time I went to Confession what he might say to me if I confessed that I had sinned because after our last Confession I attended the “Vigil” Mass he celebrated on Saturday rather than waiting for calendar Sunday to attend Mass. He would be right to tell me to take a moment and think about how unreasonable what i just said was.

I wish they had the Paten like they used in the old days to prevent accidents
They use the Paten in my parish. 🙂 It does prevent accidents, and makes receiving on the tongue the best way.
I don’t know why they would get arid of the paten for distributing communion. (maybe to justify their arguments for receiving in the hand?) Hmmm…
