I have considered getting a St Benedict medal tattoo, to underscore that even though my raw, uninformed “conscience”, my “aboriginal vicar of Christ” as the Catechism puts it, tells me that there is something “wrong” with tattooing, nonetheless, the Church does not teach against it, therefore it is not wrong after all.

Here’s how I treat a “conscience” that prompts me to come to conclusions other than those of the Church — shaddap, ya!
