I am Henry Dumaua Flores from the Philippines. I am a seminarian currently residing New Manila Cubao, Quezon City. I am searching for an english speaking diocese, I would like to apply as a seminarian and willing to help a diocese, espcially those who are in need of a seminarian.

Hi Henry! I would recommend to you the Diocese of Salina in Kansas. They definitely need more seminarians and it would be great if you could go there.

Ah thank you @lagerald24 how can i get there? Or how can I contact the vocation director or the bishop? Thank you for your positive response. God bless you

If you’re already a seminarian in Quezon City, why are you seeking a transfer? I don’t mean that you need to tell the entire world by answering here, but any vocations director will naturally ask about this, as they have learned by hard experience to be a bit wary of seminarians who don’t want to stay put and finish their studies where they are. That isn’t to say there will be no interest, only that there will of course be serious questioning about what lead you to want to leave your current situation.

Thank you Ma’am @PetraG Philippines is blessed with so many seminarians, I want to help dioceses that are in need of seminarians and be a missionary. That was the call of Pope Francis "asia is a mission station before, and now asia is evangelizers to its evangelizers before.

I admire your missionary zeal and it’s great that you want to help out where you are most needed. However, you should discuss this with your diocesan bishop and/or vocation director if you haven’t already. If they’re willing to let you apply to be a seminarian in an American diocese, they may have the connections to help you figure out where you should go.

any of the dioceses here in Ireland would greatly welcome you.

I would highly recommend this, OP. They would be most helpful in helping you to discern more specifically what sort of missionary call you have, finding you a placement and reassuring prospective dioceses that you’re not a “problem child” just trying to find greener pastures. They might also prefer having you finish your studies in the Philipines and then starting your missionary work after ordination.

The Archdiocese of Portland in Oregon has a fairly high Filipino population. Hawaii, Alaska and California also have cities with very high Filipino populations (as in, places in Hawaii with a Filipino population in the neighborhood of 20-30% or so). Places like that really need bilingual priests, not just priests who speak English. You could be an answer to the prayers of a bishop who has that kind of a need.

Oh, and you could also contact the Order of the Servants of Mary (Servites), who have connections both in the Phillipines and around the world (including here in Oregon). They will have priests in the Philipines who can give you a good idea of what the need and the nature of the work is for priests from the Philipines who are doing missionary work elsewhere. (The Jesuits could obviously give you feedback on the “lay of the land,” as well, as could any of the other international religious orders. I mention the Servites because I know they send priests in both directions, so you could help other priests to understand the nature of the culture in the Philipines, as well, and what immigrants from the Phillipines who are living around the world want and need in terms of pastoral care.)

Yeah, I also had this in mind when I wrote my post. A diocese might be reluctant if they hear from a seminarian from across the globe with no connections to said diocese. They might think that the OP is running away from something or has had personal or formation issues causing him to apply elsewhere.

Reassurance and support from a bishop could go a long way in being able to study for an American diocese, if that’s what he is called to do.

I would like to hear from that. Do you have contacts out there? To keep me in touch with the .ocation director or bishop?
