Greetings.

In an effort to narrow my search I’m looking for a little advice in book selection.

The topic would be Catholic Theology.

In short, I’m looking for **a good “introductory” source **that may hit on some key foundational highlights.

I’m aware that there’s copious material out there and I’m sure it would be impossible to get a full grasp of all Catholic theology can offer by accessing one single book.

Again, I’m just looking for an introductory level, or phase I, type of book.

I’m not opposed to something that may be considered “heavy”, “in depth”, or “intellectually challenging”; as long as it covers a wide scope of our church’s theological beliefs and is introductory in its nature.

God bless and thanks so much for helping me refine my search.

Theology and Sanity (heavier) and Theology for Beginners both by Frank Sheed (2nd is a little lighter) classics and still good place to start. another classic I found very helpful esp. on topic of the Trinity is Everyman’s Theology y Leo Rudloff OSB. I am guessing I got these from Roman Catholic Books.

“Catholic Christianity” by Peter Kreeft

The best single book on the subject.

Theology: The basics - By Alister McGrath is good IMO.
The bible is a good book on catholicism too.

I have a friend who read Catholicism for Dummies too and he said it wasnt awful if your into them kinda book, not that Im calling you a dummy r anything.
