Second collection today

In the middle of the first collection, our priest remembered that there was a second one, so he had to give us the short version of what it was for: “for the propagation of the faith”.

He usually tells us up front, and goes into detail about what a second collection is about.

It sounded important to me. Like it would increase evangelism in some way.

But, I still don’t know exactly what it was for… Did anyone else have this collection at their Church today? Does anyone know more about what cause this goes to, how this money is used?
 
This Sunday was Mission Sunday. In England and Wales, there was a second collection for Missio, formerly known as the Association for the Propagation of the Faith. missio.org.uk/ I presume that a similar collection is made in other provinces.
 
Yes, this was a world-wide collection for Missions, formerly it was called “Propagation of the Faith” Sunday.
