I remember reading somewhere else that dispensations for siblings used to be given, although not to marry after baptism, but rather to preserve such a marriage that was contracted beforehand. These days dispensations aren’t given for such a degree of consanguinity, although there’s no clear pronouncement the impediment is of divine positive law. As we remember, Sarah and Abraham were siblings, although as far as I know, they shared only the father, not both parents.
Wonder if that was done because of the local custom and particular circumstances of the dying dynasty or maybe it was found more acceptable back in the day than it is today.
