Is it disrespectful to enter the church to obverse a few minutes of a Mass that one is not attending to meet one’s Sunday obligation and then leave?

I have to assume you mean entering and standing by the door for a few minutes. As long as one is not disrupting the service or inconveniencing those who are there for Mass, why would it be disrespectful?

Didrespectful? Yes! Does it fulfill your Sunday Obligation? NO! Are you flirting with a Mortal Sin? Yes!

You can’t find it in your heart to give God a hour a week> Same on you!

I believe the OP means something like this: you have already gone to Sunday Mass, but while walking past another church later that afternoon you decide to stop in and watch ten minutes of another Mass.

And no, I don’t consider it disrespectful, obviously as long as you’re not making a big commotion when you leave or something.

Sounds good to me. I am assuming you wouldn’t receive Communion at that mass.

Why would it be disrespectful? It says in your post (2nd Mass) so you have already fulfilled your Sunday obligation. As long as you do not make a terrible noise entering and leaving. No disrespect. Good for you I think. It seems hard enough to fill the pews once a week glad someone else will fill just ‘one’ twice. Good for you.

It depends.

EF or OF?

What parish?

No, I don’t think it would be as long as you were quiet and not disruptive on coming and going. Especially try to avoid scandal by leaving during the Eucharistic prayer.

Why are you doing this though? If your intention is just to see the other church, then best to look around between Masses. If you want to hear their choir or listen to the homily, then why not just attend all of that Mass? If you are going to “check things out” because you’ve heard this or that rumor about that church, then please stay home.

of course not, as long as you are not being disruptive, has someone said something that would make you think it is wrong?
