The above is an example of the secular media, through misunderstanding, pushing politics into the Church i.e:- if one abides by the doctrines, the truths, of the Church then one is labelled a conservative as opposed to a progressive, or this, or that:
NO, NO, NO, NO, NO.
If one abides by the doctrines of the Church and accepts faith in all its fullness then one is simply a Catholic, and a Christian! The difference of opinion when concerning doctrine is not argued between conservatives or liberals or any of those political junkie titles, but rather, the difference is between those who can see the truth and those who can’t: truth and lesser truths, or falsity, morals and immorality, good and evil - truth is only relative according to who adheres to eternal truths (doctrines) or not. Doctrines cannot be wrong but can be developed and applied. So it is not a matter of who in the Church is a “conservative” or a “progressive” or this, or that. But simply who is a Catholic! The Church is not Parliament or Congress, and it is not a media Circus either. This highlights the massive amount of work to be done in education amongst secular society.

Maybe because Catholic teaching was thought of as something dry compared to the technological era and sexual revolution, and as a consequence, the word ‘dirty’ was twisted and subversion became an eventuality - ‘freedom’ took on a different meaning in which more superficial means to happiness were served up in the world - with one result (or lack of result) being that less people took the RCC less seriously, and maybe some of this pressure meant a decrease of inertia in catechesis within the Church.
