Is the Sedevacantist Mass seen as valid through the eyes of the Catholic Church?

I believe that it could be valid if the celebrating priest was properly ordained but the Church considers it “illicit”
This is because the priest is not under the authority of a Bishop that is in full communion with the Pope.

👍

Hello. 🙂 Yes, sedevacantist priests are valid priests. But, their Masses are illicit because they are not in communion with the Catholic Church.

God bless. :blessyou:

Not all sedevacantist priests have been validly ordained. There are many questions involving some of the “Bishops” that have been ordaining in the last 30 years or so. If I recall correctly there was a Vietnamese Bishop (Thuc?) that ordained many priests that are now involved with SSPV and CMRI. Hope my memory is working correctly.

I think this is a banned topic in these forums.
Maye if folks keep it civil it can stay opened?
I also heard that a priest can have lost his faith all-together (i.e. going through the motions) and the Mass will still be valid.

I think if the Priest has been validly ordained (regardless of his personal views with Chair of Peter), and if the ordination was valid, and He hast excommunicated himself, the transubstantiation occurs (in case people forget what a “valid” mass is)…

I would be wary in assuming Mass is valid at the Airport Hilton, though!
