See the following quote from a Moderator on this topic. It contains the definition.

For the foreseeable future, the moderation staff, in conjunction with the apologetics staff, has decided to ban the topic of sedevacantism (i.e., the theory that there can be at points in Church history no current valid pope). Any threads that open with the topic of sedevacantism will be deleted; any that drift into that topic will be locked.

How’s that for discussing the topic without discussing the topic?

Sedevaticanism is not a banned topic; sedevacantism is, however.

Haha…I guess that any Christian who is not Catholic is sedevaticanist. So, what do you want to know about sedevaticanism? :yup:

P.S. I really like that word–sedevaticanism. We should apply it more often to the evangelicals. Once it starts becoming used in public, people will confuse sedevacantists with sedevaticanists. O how the sedevacantists would love us for it :bounce:

Technically, Sedevaticanism would be belief in the “Chair of the Vatican”…I guess all Catholics would be considered Sedevaticanists!

Haha…good point. I don’t know Latin very well. For some reason I thought that “sede” meant “without.” (Just found out that “sine” means “without” in Latin.)

Anyhow, I’m glad that sedevaticanist posts are allowed on these forums. :yup:
