Are your family staunch Methodists? Do they really believe in the doctrines and beliefs of Methodism? I ask because I wonder if it would be possible to convert them to Catholicism?
You know that the Catholic Church was founded by Christ; and that the Catholic faith possesses the fullness of Christian truth. With this in mind, why wouldn’t you try to convert your loved ones?
If your family converted, you could all worship together. If your family members have an open mind and are sincerely looking for the truth, then converting them should be easy.
They are not really staunch Methodists at all. I was shocked to find out they did not even know that Baptism was a sacrament. Some of them fall under the belief that it does not matter which church they are going to.

I have tried to convert them to the Catholic faith, or more so, I have tried to explain to them what has moved me to convert. I think the problem with that was that " I " was the one trying to convert them and did not rely enough on prayer and asking God to move their hearts.

I am not so sure they are looking for truth. Some seem to be “content”, as they say, in their relationship with Christ and feel no need to move. I of course tell them that you can never be content in a relationship with an Infinite God because there is ALWAYS room to grow!

My one sister does not even trust the Bible as a source of authority…so I get really confused at her perspective and how she can believe in Christianity without accepting the Bible.

I honestly think some of them are “allergic” to the Church.
