Self righteous family members

How do I react to extended family members who are extreemly self righteous and many times lack compassion and humility toward anyone not choosing their way of life. Even the fellow family members who are Catholic but do not choose to homeschool are treated as if they are wrong or somehow unequal to them… Even Jesus dined with prostitues and Taxcollectors, am I right? What is the proper Christian behavior to take with them?

Welcome to the forums. Be carefull, you might get addicted.🙂 I would say that they need a lesson in humility and what Christianity is all about. The life of Christ is about humility. I don’t know how to deal with someone who is self-righteous and looks down upon everyone else though.
 
It is difficult to be in the company of those who believe that they, and they alone, hold the truth. You can’t change them. You can, however, change how you respond to them. Pray for perseverance and guidance.
 
Thank you for the suggestion! I am praying for those exact virtues, it is just so hard when face to face with these family members!! They so convince themselves they are right, they actually put up a barrier between themselves and the rest of the family. Thank you again
