We all know that bad people exist in this world. We also know that non of us are worthy of Heaven and we owe our eternal salvation to God’s love for us. So why do so many of us feel such satisfaction at condemning people to hell in our hearts that have done things that anger us? Lots of our circumstances have absolutely nothing to do with any work or talent of our own, meaning some people are born into comfortable circumstances and some people are born into chaos etc. Also, some people adhere to different things for a myriad of reasons; good or bad teachings, or no teachings etc. My point is, it’s impossible to accurately judge anyone isn’t it? I think we can discern lots of things well sometimes, but condemning fallen hearts to hell feels extremely wrong as I reflect this evening… It seems sinful in itself, yet this attitude has been prevalent enough in my conversations with people at different times in my life that I noticed a kind of ugly heartedness there that is disturbing. Does anyone out there agree with me, or am I just emotionally exhausted from life and thinking too much?.. Thank you all and God bless

I think you have a good point. Jesus said we should love our enemies and pray for them. We should pray for their salvation, not condemnation. It’s not always easy to do, but we are better off when we do it.

There are no good or bad people.
There are good or bad choices.

And no, can’t quite say I take any delight in other people burning in Hell.

We cannot judge individual souls, only God knows the heart. On the other hand, IMO we cannot be so optimistic as to believe that Hell is empty. St Augustine was pessimistic on this issue and thought many were going to Hell in his time. I imagine it is worse now.
