So I work for a property clean out business and one of the ways we make money is by reselling the items on eBay and Amazon. It just dawned on me, but I realize that we have a rosary that is in a package labeled “blessed by the pope” for sale. I didn’t make the listing but I’ve edited the post before. It just dawned on me that selling blessed items is not good. I honestly just thought about it and remembered that we have it.

I work for a small company and my bosses are both Baptist, so they are unlikely to understand or sympathize. They are somewhat money hungry so I don’t know if they’d be keen on not selling it… What should I do?

You can sell items that are blessed, so long as you’re not charging extra because it’s blessed, or charging extra to get it blessed.

Others may know more. It is my understanding you can sell the item, but not for more than its value, as in attaching a price to the blessing. That would be simony. Imagine not being able to sell your house because you had it blessed.

Ohhhhhhhhhh ok. I definitely thought selling blessed items was a no no…🤔

If you have ever been to Rome all around St peter’s square are shops and stands selling Rosaries blessed by the Pope. Because of the simple fact that the Pope blesses these objects at almost every Wednesday audience and other events.
