I am selling a swamp cooler. I might have a possible buyer, but he intends to use it in a marijuana growing business. Is it a sin to sell to him knowing the purpose it will be used for?

A swamp cooler is designed to cool your space on the cheap. I don’t know how one can be used to grow MJ. I would think the plants would need heat rather cold air circulating. They will provide lots of moisture, 'though.
In case anyone is wondering-a swamp cooler is a homemade, redneck, hillbilly kind of air conditioner and yes, they work.
Now, if I sell my car and it is used in a crime, then I am not culpable unless I have full knowledge of the crime or intent. However, ask your confessor.

He lives in the Inland Empire. Indoor grow I believe. They use grow lamps that emit lots of heat. Swamp coolers are cheap alternatives to Split units I guess. Some people just share too much info. He could have asked to buy it and not tell me his life story! Now I know what its used for, I’m confused whether to sell to him or not!

No it’s not a sin.

You have no idea if he’s telling the truth, or he might have permission to cultivate medicinal marijuana, etc.
However, It sounds as if your gut reaction is to NOT sell it to him, which is fine. Trust your instincts.
