Are there more entering the traditional seminaries or the diocean ones today ?

Anyone have the numbers ?

I don’t have the numbers, but I can say with 99.9% certainty that more men are entering non-traditional seminaries than traditional ones because of the far greater number of non-traditional seminaries. If we’re talking about average numbers or something like that, then someone would have to find hard numbers, but that would be quite a project if done on a worldwide scale.

I don’t have figures, however I will say that I know the Institute of Christ the King has so many ‘applications’ that they have to be very very selective of whom they accept. Kind of like being accepted to the Catholic equivalent of an Ivy League University 🙂

I would agree and disagree with Andreas. Of course there are more Diocesan Seminaries, hence more men going there. However, per Seminary – at least for some parts – there are many more men entering Traditional Seminaries than Diocesan ones.
