Hi all, I am new here.
Question: I have a BA degree from Fordham University in Religion. NOW, have you all heard of the diocesan seminary in New York: Saint Joseph’s Seminary, what do you think? Is it NOW faithful to tradition and OFFICIAL Church teaching? I am looking into the possability of considering a vocation with that Archdiocese. What about the Brooklyn/Queens diocese? Lastly, BRIDGEPORT, Conn.? Out of these. which would you advise? Thank you all for your well taken advice.🙂

My brother-in-law attended St. Joseph’s and I believe it is quite Orthodox. Father Groeschel (you may know him from EWTN) sends all the seminarians for his order (Franciscans of the Renewal I believe) there, and he (and his order) are VERY Orthodox. I have also met many of the young priests and seminarians from there, and they are almost all Orthodox.
I think there are some older priests involved with formation who are not happy with some of this, but I believe they are not un-Orthodox in any serious way, but just like some of the “modernization”.

Hope that helps. Good luck discerning your vocation.
