I received an email from the Amarican Family Association stating that there is a bill that the current gov’t is trying to pass that would keep organizations from letting the public know about bills that are going to be voted on. Thus the public would not be able to call their elected officials to let them know how to vote.
I did some research on it and didn’t come up with very much info other than the AFA is not the only ones talking about it.
Here’s the link:

It is Senate Bill 1 and it require some organizations to register and provide alot of information about their activities. Organizations would have to hire more people to take care of the extra workload and alot of the smaller ones cannot afford to do that.

The ACLJ (Jay Sekelow) has a petition to sign on their website.

Here are the links to the ACLJ site. The first is the petition and the second is a brief description in .pdf format.

I’d doubt this would stand up to a constitutional challlenge. Ultimately, it will probably go nowhere.

Oh, that’s right. I keep forgetting that our officials represent big-money lobbyists and special interests groups. Somewhere I must of had a dream that we have them to represent us.

Good grief. What will they think of next? And they only just begun, as the song says.

All that mail from the little people makes it hard to keep track of the big checks.
