Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Today, Sunday - The Lord’s Day - is an appropriate day to conclude St. Louis De Montfort’s Introduction to : “True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin” with paragraphs 11, 12 and 13. God willing, tomorrow we’ll begin Part 1 - Devotion to Our Lady in General. Hopefully you’ll continue to read and ponder the Truth the Lord gave St. Louis de Montfort to write for the Church.
  1. Moreover, we should repeat after the Holy Spirit, “All the glory of the king’s daughter is within”, meaning that all the external glory which heaven and earth vie with each other to give her is nothing compared to what she has received interiorly from her Creator, namely, a glory unknown to insignificant creatures like us, who cannot penetrate into the secrets of the king.
  2. Finally, we must say in the words of the apostle Paul, “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor has the heart of man understood” the beauty, the grandeur, the excellence of Mary, who is indeed a miracle of miracles of grace, nature and glory. “If you wish to understand the Mother,” says a saint, “then understand the Son. She is a worthy Mother of God.” Hic taceat omnis lingua : Here let every tongue be silent.
  3. My heart has dictated with special joy all that I have written to show that Mary has been unknown up till now, and that that is one of the reasons why Jesus Christ is not known as He should be.
If then, as is certain, the knowledge and the kingdom of Jesus Christ must come into the world, it can only be as a necessary consequence of the knowledge and reign of Mary. She who first gave Him to the world will establish His kingdom in the world.
Today’s Liturgy of the Word can help us appreciate what God desires of His Church. The First reading tells us “Seek the Lord while He may be found…” St. Louis has written what we have believed for centuries that the Incarnate Son of God came to us through the power of the Holy Spirit, in the womb of Mary. He was found by poor shepherds and by Wise Men soon after His Birth. Do we seek and find Him today? I pray that more and more will find Him coming to them through Mary.

Pray the Rosary to let Our Lady take care of our problems

(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

“Saint John Paul II wished that the Rosary should become again the habitual prayer of the domestic church, which is the Christian family,” says Father Hubert Lelievre, who founded ‘Missionary Family, the Gospel of Life’ 20 years ago, and is Episcopal Delegate for the Family in the Diocese of Avignon, France.

Father Lelievre hopes that these words of Saint John Paul II will embolden priests and bishops to encourage the faithful to pray the Rosary. This prayer will also “simplify our life, since Our Lady will take care of our problems.”

Saint John Paul II knew the power of Marian prayer, which can change the course of history, thwart plans of wars and massacres, silence the madness of arms, and touch the heart of the most prideful and self-reliant. He was well aware of the countless interventions of Our Lady throughout history: she came to save Christians who, on their knees, confidently and perseveringly, implored her help. He knew how many times Our Lady has saved mankind from falling into the abyss of nothingness and self-destruction.

The holy pope was convinced that Our Lady can and wants to intervene, to save her sinful children and help them go to Heaven. All we have to do is turn to her, implore her, and let her act.

Yes, it is “through Mary, with her, and in her, that Victory will come,” as Saint Louis de Montfort famously wrote. We just need to make some room for Mary to act. Let us pray to her on our knees, rosary in hand. Let us trust her. We will then experience how good God is!

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Dear hazcompat,

How Good God is inded! He has inspired you to post this beautiful quote from a good priest in France, just at a time when I was asking the Lord for help to encourage our Auxiliary Members of the Legion of Mary in the parish where we have a small group of Active Legionaries and a larger group of Auxiliiaries. If you are not familiar with the Legion of Mary Apostolate, it was founded by a layman in 1921 who with a small group who had consecrated themselves to Jesus through Mary, using St. Louis de Montfort’s method in his treatise on “True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin.” They met together with their parish priest on the Eve of Mary’s Nativity, in 1921, prayed to the Holy Spirit for guidance in how to live the Consecration they had prayed – that it not remain only words, but that their lives would manifest the fruit of their prayer. The Legion of Mary has grown to be the largest Lay Apostolate in the Catholic Church.

It was obvious to Pope St. John Paul II in 1982 that devotion to Mary was declining as he addressed the Legion of Mary in Oct. 1982:
…Where the Mother is, there too is the Son. When one moves away from the Mother, sooner or later he ends up keeping distant from the Son as well. It is no wonder that today, in various sectors of secularised society, we note a widespread crisis of faith in God, preceded by a drop in devotion to the Virgin Mother…
This priest speaks the Truth also , even as Pope St. John Paul II did in 1982 by encouraging people to pray to Mary:slight_smile:
…Yes, it is “through Mary, with her, and in her, that Victory will come,” as Saint Louis de Montfort famously wrote. We just need to make some room for Mary to act. Let us pray to her on our knees, rosary in hand. Let us trust her. We will then experience how good God is!" – Father Lelievre
Thanks for sharing your own love for Jesus through Mary with us on CAF 🙂
