Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Today is the Memorial of St. Padre Pio, who like St. Louis de Montfort and all the saints had great devotion to Mary.

Today, as we celebrate the Memorial of St. Padre Pio, let us continue to listen to St. Louis de Montfort’s words in his treatise on “True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin”, which encourage us to do as Padre Pio and all the saints have done – going to Jesus through Mary:
  1. God the Holy Spirit, who does not produce any divine person, became fruitful through Mary whom He espoused. It was with her, in her and of her that He produced his masterpiece, God-made-man, and that He produces every day until the end of the world the members of the body of this adorable Head. For this reason the more He finds Mary His dear and inseparable spouse in a soul the more powerful and effective He becomes in producing Jesus Christ in that soul and that soul in Jesus Christ.
  2. This does not mean that the Blessed Virgin confers on the Holy Spirit a fruitfulness which He does not already possess. Being God, He has the ability to produce just like the Father and the Son, although He does not use this power and so does not produce another divine person. But it does mean that the Holy Spirit chose to make use of our Blessed Lady, although He had no absolute need of her, in order to become actively fruitful in producing Jesus Christ and His members in her and by her. This is a mystery of grace unknown even to many of the most learned and spiritual of Christians.
2. Mary’s part in the sanctification of souls
  1. The plan adopted by the three persons of the Blessed Trinity in the Incarnation, the first coming of Jesus Christ, is adhered to each day in an invisible manner throughout the Church and they will pursue it to the end of time until the last coming of Jesus Christ.
Holy Trinity, enable us to grow closer to You, through Mary, our Mother. Open the “ears of our hearts” to hear more deeply, Jesus’s words:
“Behold your Mother”

As a good Mother, Mary never wants to abandon her children

There can be a no more difficult experience for a mother than to witness the death of her child. It is heartrending. We see Mary there, at the foot of the cross, like every mother, strong, faithful, staying with her Child even to His death, and death on the cross… Then we see her encouraging and supporting the disciples.

We contemplate her life, and we feel understood, we feel heard. We can sit down to pray with her and use a common language in the face of the countless situations we encounter each day. We can identify with many situations of her life. We can tell her what is happening in our lives, because she understands.

Mary is a woman of faith; she is the Mother of the Church; she believed. Her life testifies that God does not deceive us—God does not abandon His people—even in moments or situations when it might seem that He is not there. Mary was the first of her Son’s disciples and in moments of difficulty she kept the hope of the apostles alive…

A woman attentive to the needs of others, she could say–when it seemed like the feast and joy were at an end–“See, they have no wine” (Jn 2:3). She was the woman who went to stay with her cousin for “about three months” (Lk 1:56), so that Elizabeth would not be alone as she prepared to give birth.

We know all this from the Gospel, but we also know that she is the mother who has stood beside us in so many difficult situations… Mary has always been in our hospitals, our schools and our homes. She has always sat at table in every home… Hers has been a discreet and silent presence, making itself felt through a statue, a holy card or a medal.

Under the sign of the Rosary, we know that we are never alone, that she always accompanies us. Why? Because Mary simply wants to be in the midst of her people, with her children, with her family. She followed Jesus always, from within the crowd. As a good mother, she never wants to abandon her children, rather, she always shows up whenever one of her children is in need. For the simple reason that she is our mother.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Thanks dear hazcompat

Yes, the Motherhood of Mary given to her from the Cross is such a gift from Jesus and yet today we find her so neglected by many in the Church and the enemy satan, instigates men and women to wound her heart by tearing down her statues and keeping their children from knowing and loving her. Today I saw a video of a man taking a statue of Our Lady from it’s place in front of a church in NY and throwing it down on the sidewalk. What a cruel act toward a Mother Who Loves and prays for us.

May God forgive all who wound the heart of Mary! May He and bring them to repentance! May we pray for all those who continue to “love the lies of satan” and refuse God’s Love – especially in refsing to give loving honor to His Mother who suffered so much with Jesus on Calvary, and was given to us as our Mother!

O my Jesus forgive us and save us from the fires of hell. Draw all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of Your Mercy. Mary, Mother and Model for the Church, pray for us.
