September: month of the Bible

I read that September is the ‘month of the Bible’.:bible1:

When I tried to find out why, I consulted several Catholic websites in Mexico, and many Latin American countries and found this explanation: That it was on September 26 in 1569 that the first Spanish Bible, translated by a monk named Casiodoro de Reina, was completely printed in Basilea, Switzerland.
My question is this: Is September as ‘month of the Bible’ celebrated therefore only in Spanish speaking countries or is it something the universal Church celebrates?:grouphug:

Perhaps it also has something to do with St. Jerome, who was responsible for the Latin Vulgate version of the Bible and whose memorial is on September 30.

The opening prayer of his memorial is:
Father, you gave St. Jerome delight in his study of holy scripture. May your people find in your word the food of salvation and the fountain of life…
