My 16 year old cat appears to be pooping or peeing out blood, and I can’t afford to take him to the vet. I don’t know what to do. The thing is though, he doesn’t appear to be hurting as weird as that may sound, although I assume he must be.

Actually, I just got off the phone with my mom and it appears she can help pay for a vet appointment, but I don’t know exactly when it’ll be at the moment.

Vash a male cat peeing blood is a medical emergency. I pray you get that appointment asap.

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world. x10

Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Prayer for a Miracle

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from

the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal (Vash88’s Cat). You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by

speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.

You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from

the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into Vash88’s Cat’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

I am definitely praying that God Blesses your cat with great healing and great news

He’s got an appointment on Friday, and the vet may have a cancellation tomorrow, so I may even get bumped up to tomorrow afternoon. Either way, he’s got an appointment this week.

He’s stopped bleeding by the way. He bled some more the day after I made this thread, and then just a tiny bit the day after that, but he didn’t bleed at all yesterday or today. So thank you for the prayers everyone. I did figure out the blood was coming from his butt, so at least I know he wasn’t peeing blood.

Prayer for Ailing Cat

Heavenly Father,
Our human ties with our friends of other species are
a wonderful and special gift from You. We humbly ask
You to heal @vash88’s cat and to remove any pain
or distress he may be experiencing.

We make this request in Jesus’ name, amen. 🐱

Well, he had the appointment today.

The vet seems to think it’s time to put him down. His body temperature is low which I didn’t even realize, and he seemed dehydrated. Plus he’s lost weight recently despite eating a lot more lately. All of which, according to the vet, points to kidney failure. He seems happy and curious and alert when he’s awake, but the vet explained that when an animal is in its pack, it hides its pain because the pack puts a pained animal out of its misery. So although it may seem like he’s doing good at times, it’s not necessarily the case, and it’s only going to get worse.

So I will be putting him down on Monday. I’m still trying to process it all. I’ve had him pretty much his entire life, except the first three months. When he was a kitten, he hated people and always ran away and hid whenever company came over, or even if my mom got too close to him. But for whatever reason, he’s always loved me. And when I moved out of my mom’s house 10 years ago, I could only have one pet to my apartment, so I took him of course. Thank you everyone for the prayers. The last couple of days have SEEMED okay. Maybe that’s just a front he’s putting on, but I’d like to think the prayers have eased his pain somewhat.

I am praying for you and your family.
Please remember that Pts is one of the kindest things we can do for our pets when they are suffering and in pain and it will only get worse.
Having been through this, my advice would be to ask the vet to give your cat a sedative as the first step on Monday.

Thanks again for the prayers everyone. He was put to sleep very peacefully earlier today. He didn’t make a fuss or try to resist or anything. He was very tired and disinterested in everything this morning, so I think he was ready to go. He just put his head down on his arm like he was gonna take a nap, and we just looked at each other until the vet said he was gone. From injection til he passed was about 20 seconds.

The toughest thing is being home now without him. I got him for my 14th birthday and my 30th birthday is just a month away, so I kinda grew up with him. My family had a dog and two cats when I moved out of my mom’s house, but the apartment I moved in to only allowed one pet. But this cat was always “my” cat and he didn’t really socialize much with the dog or the other cat. And the dog and the other cat were really close so it worked out perfectly that I took with me. He had a good life, and he had a pretty good weekend. It was really his behavior this morning that confirmed to me that I was doing the right thing.

I’m so sorry for your loss. At 58 years old, I’ve had to put down every cat I’ve owned – except for the ones that died suddenly. It never gets easier to put down a pet. I thank God that you’ve shared such a warm relationship with your cat. I pray that you heal from this pain and that you take heart in the fact that you’ll be reunited your cat in heaven. (Animals, after all, were part of the Garden of Eden.)
