I’m serious problems regarding a past argument I had on another online forum site. I was on a Catholic sub-forum on that forum site, and certain Catholics were discussing a certain controversial dogma of the Church. (And no, I’m not going to say what that dogma was, don’t ask.) These Catholics were being very disrespectful and irreverent towards the dogma, and then one of the users made a comment that was just outrageous and I lost it.
This all happened back in November, I had planned on taking a break for Advent, I then decided to start my break right then and there, and not be back until August. I also decided that when I returned in August, I wouldn’t go back on that sub-forum, but instead go on the Traditional Catholic sub-forum and hang-out there from then on. I’m not planning on giving them the silent treatment, if any them approached me and talked to me, I would speak to them and be mutual with them. I just want to let them know that they did wrong, and that I am totally against what they said, I regret my angry outburst, but I do not regret speaking-out telling them they were wrong.
All that being said, I keep struggling with angry thoughts about the whole the thing, and particularly about what happens when I go back. I keep imagining going back there, going on the Traditional Catholic sub-forum, and people from the main Catholic sub-forum coming up to telling me and accusing me of holding a grudge, that I’m wrong, and all that, and eventually everything going down-hill me losing it, or left feeling very angry and bitter. I keep having these thoughts and worries and not being able to overcome them, and it’s getting really bad now, I just went to mass this evening, and at mass, these thoughts kept invading my mind, and I could barely focus, (they started out as irritated thoughts regarding some other minor issue which I forgot, and then shifted to this.) what should I do? I really, really, don’t want to go back to that sub-forum, but I don’t want to turn into a grudge between me and these people where we’re angry at each other, what should I do?
