I’m been dating my girlfriend for a couple of years now. We care for each other dearly and pray constantly for our future…that is to recognize God’s calling for us and to have the courage to follow that call. I have recently been accepted to graduate school. This is a mandatory move in terms of my career. Also, I have had ‘feelings’ for a number of years now that I may be called to some type of military service after my education is complete. With all of these thoughts swirling in my head, I am trying to turn to Christ foremost (and ONLY for that matter). I am praying for the answer to the mysterious future of not only the relationship that I am in, but also to the mystery of the future of my career path and how these two large happenings in my life will occur (possibly simultaneously). Anyway, keep me in your prayers. I will continue to pray a daily rosary with my little queen (my girlfriend) to my Big Queen (The Blessed Mother). Any other advice is surely welcomed! Thank you and God bless you all!

As St. Paul of the Cross says, “God consoles us when we least expect it.”

I’ve been in your position before–and I’ve been married 16 years this past Oct. 13. I was heck-bent on entering the monastery, then a bunch of other stuff came up. If you’re supposed to be in a certain place, the path will be made known.

My only real advice is to keep your nose to the grindstone (what you’re doing now), and the other stuff will “just come.” Whatever you’re supposed to do with the relationship, etc., all will be revealed in due time. God’s in charge of the clock.👍

HTH.

Thank you so much for your kind words and prayers. It’s funny, because along with all of my restlessness, I also feel so blessed and peaceful to have options in my lifepath in order to glorify God. I know many that neither know God nor have opportunities in the secular world that they probably wish they would. I have discovered that these people are very much in need of prayers too. I can’t wait till 7:30! We were given 'business cards" by a friend of mine a couple of weeks ago to be at the Cathedral in our town to 'Experience God’s Mystery"…can’t wait to find out!
