Hello. I’m not sure where this post belongs, but I’ll try here. It seems as though I’m confused about being a servant or a friend. From what I understand we are to be servants of the Lord, including being humble and obedient as servants are. I also understand that the Bible says something about we are no longer considered servants, but are now friends of the Lord. Something about us being servants when we did not know the Lord’s will, as a servant does not know the Master’s will, but now that Jesus has taught us His will, we are no longer “in the dark” or considered servants in that sense. I probably misphrased stuff and just misunderstand, but any clarification would be appreciated.

We are the Lord’s friends because we know what he intends, and we remain his friends if we do what he tells us (cf Jn 15:14-15). We are to be servants to one another for we are called to assist them in their journey to union with God. So both terms are valid.

Thank you Deacon Ed for the reference 🙂 . And that does shed light on my confusion. Thank you.
